Leaked information about NSA activities

The news was out early in June 2013, that NSA was collecting the telephone records of millions of Americans. The secret court order was published which directed Verizon to hand over telephone data to NSA daily. NSA tapped into nine internet firms including Facebook, Google and Mircrosoft which would track online communication in a surveillance programme called Prism. The ex CIA systems analyst Edward Snowden leaked the information about the US and UK surveillance programmes. Snowden is charged with theft of government property, unauthorised communication of national defence information and wilful communication of classifies communications intelligence.

Each and every one of us has the right to privacy. We have a right to keep many things that happen in our lives personal. PRISM becoming an international programme in my opinion is not a good idea. PRSIM becoming an international programme can lead to a disaster. NOT just general private information will leak but also financial information or other information that can affect people’s lives will be leaked. This programme could even cause people to know about each other’s private information. Strangers getting hold of information could pose as a threat to many of the users on internet services. Banking information will be easy to access, fraud, hacking and corruption will occur.
